Judy King

Dr. King is the Vice Dean of Interprofessionalism, Partnerships and Practical Education, Faculty of Health Sciences and an Associate Professor in the Physiotherapy Program in School of Rehabilitation Sciences, at the University of Ottawa in Canada and holds a Chair in University Teaching.
Her patient centred research focus is in the area of education including patient and health care professional education, specifically as it relates to chronic disease management, particularly for people living with chronic respiratory and cardiac conditions across health care settings including critical care.

Dr. King has been asked to be involved in several national policy activities including establishing a national lung health framework for Canada. She has been involved in several knowledge translation activities as part of the Ottawa Panel establishing evidence-based practice guidelines for patient education including internet-based interventions.

She has volunteered on several provincial, national and international committees including Chairing the Research and Fellowship Committee of the Ontario Respiratory Care Society (ORCS) and she was a founding executive committee member of the International Confederation of Cardiorespiratory Physical Therapists (ICCrPT) of the World Confederation of Physical Therapy (WCPT).
She has received both provincial and national awards for her teaching and mentoring of students and new health professionals including a Chair in University Teaching with a focus on critical thinking.
