Alexandra Binnie

Alexandra Binnie is a critical care physician at William Osler Health System in Toronto, Ontario where she is also the physician lead for ICU research. She divides her time between Toronto and Portugal, where she is an Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Algarve and an intensivist at the Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Algarve. She is interested in the pathophysiology of sepsis and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome, with a specific focus on the role of epigenetics in driving the inflammatory response to infection. She is also a co-founder of the Canadian Community ICU Research Network (CCIRNet), whose mission is to expand research capacity in community ICUs across Canada.
