Patricia Liaw

Dr. Liaw is a Professor at McMaster University in the Division of Hematology and Thromboembolism. Her research lab is located at the Thrombosis and Atherosclerosis Research Institute (TaARI). Her overall research interest is to study the mechanistic links between blood coagulation, inflammation, and innate immunity, with focus on translational studies in thrombosis, sepsis, and trauma. One of her major CIHR-funded research programs focusses on developing personalized risk assessment tools for sepsis, with collaborators from the CCCTBG and CCCTG. Her research group also performs cellular and animal studies to identify novel therapeutic targets for sepsis.
