Victoria McCredie

Victoria McCredie is an Assistant Professor and Clinician-Scientist in the Department of Medicine and Interdepartmental Division of Critical Care at the University of Toronto, and a staff physician at Toronto Western Hospital, a division of the University Health Network. Victoria graduated from the Universities of St. Andrews and Manchester combined medical school program in 2003, and subsequently trained in General Internal Medicine and Acute Medicine at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. Victoria moved to Canada in 2009 to complete fellowships in Critical Care Medicine and Neurocritical Care at the University of Toronto. Her certifications include Internal Medicine from Royal College of Physicians UK, Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and Neurocritical Care Medicine from the United Council for Neurological Subspecialties in the United States.

In 2017, Victoria completed her PhD in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Research at the University of Toronto examining the relationships between processes of care, organizational structure, and outcomes for critically ill patients with acute brain injury. Victoria's ongoing research focuses on organizational approaches to improving the quality of critical care for subarachnoid hemorrhage patients, optimal airway management strategies to liberate brain-injured patients from mechanical ventilation, and the development of an integrated neurocritical care clinical informatics platform to evaluate pathophysiologic mechanisms contributing to secondary brain injury.
