Jennifer LY Tsang
Jennifer Tsang (she/her), MD, PhD, FRCPC, ABOM, completed her MD Degree (University of Ottawa, 2003), Internal Medicine (2006) and Adult Critical Care Medicine (2008) training at University of Toronto. She then completed her PhD study in molecular biology (University of Toronto, 2013). She obtained her American Board of Obesity Medicine Certification in 2020. She practices as an adult critical care physician (Niagara Health) and as an obesity specialist. She is the Physician Research Lead (Niagara Health), Regional Deputy Research Director (Internal Medicine Residency Program, McMaster University) and Associate Professor of Medicine (McMaster University). Her academic work focuses on health research transformation in Canada by increasing research capacity in community hospitals across Canada. She is co-founder of the Niagara Health Critical Care Research Program (2017) and the Canadian Community ICU Research Network (2019). She is also the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Quest Community Health Centre.
In my own words
I envision that the future of critical care research will include more community hospitals and study results will be more generalizable to the Canadian populations.
