Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is a devastating disease with an incidence rate of approximately 10 general population. Sadly, despite the per 100,000 patient years in the recent medical advances, the long- term prognosis has not improved significantly. Historically, the vasospasm was the culprit to explain these deficits. However, despite vasospasm, the outcome was not reduction of the incidence of changed. Thus, it is becoming clear that early inflammatory events after the SAH are crucial in the death of neurons that will lead to the altered functional status of these patients. However, the exact nature of this early injury and the nature of the immune activation are ill defined.
