Welcome Paula Sevestre
The Canadian Critical Care Trials Group is pleased to welcome Paula Sevestre in the role of Indigenous Engagement and Liaison Manager.
Paula Sevestre is Mi’kmaq from the Membertou First Nation in Nova Scotia. She is a published author and wellness entrepreneur, focused on intergenerational trauma and self-healing. She has over 25 years of experience working with Indigenous organizations in Ontario in the areas of partnership development, research, management, strategic planning, governance, and public relations. She also brings personal experience of having had family members in the ICU.
Paula holds a Graduate Certificate in Public Relations. She is a Member in Good Standing with the Writer's Union of Canada and is a certified personal coach and facilitator. She is the 2023 recipient of the Nova Scotia Native Women’s Association’s Linda Maloney Award in Recognition of Entrepreneurship.
As an initial focus, Paula will help the CCCTG and LifTING to define an appropriate process for engaging with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples in culturally safe, respectful, innovative, and mutually beneficial ways. Working collaboratively, our shared goal is to build authentic partnerships towards better understanding the perspectives and priorities of diverse Indigenous groups when it comes to critical care research.
