Meeting Recap

The CCCTG Spring 2024 Scientific Meeting took place from June 10-12 in Winnipeg. Held at the Inn at the Forks and the Canadian Museum of Human Rights, the program included the annual Canadian Critical Care Research Coordinators (CCCRCG) Workshop, the Canadian Critical Care Translational Biology (CCCTBG) Spring Meeting, the Canadian Critical Care Pediatric Subgroup (CCCPEDS) Spring Meeting, the annual in-person meeting of the CCCTG Patient & Family Partners Community, and our inaugural Indigenous-focused Guidance Circle (see Guidance Circle recap below). We’re grateful to the Winnipeg-based CCCTG members for so warmly welcoming the Trials Group for our first-ever Winnipeg scientific meeting.

Indigenous-focused Guidance Circle

As part of the Winnipeg program, CCCTG also hosted its first Indigenous-focused Guidance Circle. Developed and coordinated by Paula Sevestre, Indigenous Engagement and Liaison Manager, this event facilitated open discussions on intensive care, bringing together those who have experienced, or have had a loved one experience the ICU, along with CCCTG members including physicians, care team members, and research coordinators.
