Blood Clot Research Dr. Deborah Cook at MacMaster has a major interest in the prevention of blood clots in critical care patients. Dr. Cook has recently been awarded a $5,000,000 grant from CIHR to conduct a large randomized controlled trial on the best form of heparin (a blood thinner) to prevent potentially fatal blood clots in critically ill patients.
